    RIP Tom, you will be remembered as a great competitor.

    I know Tom was mostly associated with Jaguar, but I remember those Volvo wagons TWR ran in the BTCC.

    A Volvo wagon was long an iconic symbol of a certain type of British family - they started out as favourites of antique dealers for hauling furniture in a so-tasteful way but spread until anyone with a dog wanted one for their dog to sit in the back of.

    In practice for the BTCC races (but not during the races themselves) TWR gained some fame, and good TV coverage, by carrying a stuffed dog looking out the rear window of those Volvo wagons. This may be the very 'dog':
