OK, penciled in for the 4pm Saturday slot. OK, Saturday Standby/waiting list for you. The earlier you get to the shop the better your chances I will have of squeezing you in. Edit: Ok, you are penciled in for 5:30pm on Saturday. We can thank RonsMinnie for being flexible on his slot. OK, penciled you in for 1pm Friday.
If the Friday 2:30 slot is still open I would like to take it please. I will be coming from Oklahoma early Friday Morning. Thanks, Mike
Ok then, the final slot has been spoken for. Welcome to the fun!. You are penciled-in for the Friday 2:30pm slot. PM me to lock it in!
You can at least get on the Standby list, and maybe a slot. PM me with your preferences on when you want a slot.
Does anyone has 380cc injectors that they would like to sell to me?? I really want these injectors for used price so that I can do this tune this year.
If you want/need spark plugs: 1st gen cars on the list: Let me know if you want Jan to bring the proper plugs for your car based on your mods. Cost is $40/set. We can change them before your tune, no problem. 2nd Gen cars on the list: Follow the MINI recommendations.
For you 1st Gen people a critical maintenance item is the serpentine belt as it runs the SC. Regardless of the miles or years a simple test is to check the tensioner spring compression. A compressed spring indicates a tight (non-slipping) belt, and a spring that is more extended indicates an older/more stretched, and possibly slipping belt. Definitely if your belt is making any noise, or is frayed in any way, change it. Follow this to a great How-to on belt replacement. http://www.motoringalliance.com/library/1st-generation-mini-cooper-how-to-3/replacing-the-serpentine-belt-on-an-r53-mcs-3/ I will have my tensioner tool on hand as well as a spare belt or 2, just in case. Here is a pic of the belt tensioner spring with a brand new 060535 belt and a 15% pulley, notice the entire hole is showing, this is good and indicates a nice tight belt. When the belt gets to the point that only half or less of that hole is showing then you may be getting some slipping. So, it is time for a new one. 1st Gen cars (i.e. R53) tend to be a little hard on belts and require more frequent changes than average due to the extra stress from turning the SC. 2nd Gen S cars will have a more typical experience with their serpentine belts given that they have a turbo.
OK, I will request that Jan bring in 3 sets of spark plugs as per the requests. Let me know ASAP if anyone else needs plugs. So far: mini_racer, Cheezeit, 90intherain Let me know ASAP so Jan can have them available at the tune.
Do you know if Jan sells RMW stickers? Because I have seen them on Minis, but never found out where to buy them.
No, sorry he does not sell RMW stickers. However, he does give them away. I am sure though if you insisted on paying he would take your $$. More seriously, I will make sure and remind him to bring us some stickers. He has several different styles colors and sizes.
I see you recommend we follow Mini's recommendations for plugs for the R56. I've been searching for info for plugs for the R56 Factory JCW and can't find any good info. Doesn't Jan have a recommendation? I'd like to get an upgrade plug if there is one that is worth it. If not I assume the NGK ILZKBR7A-8G used in 2009 Cooper S's is good for the 2009 Factory JCW?
Jan has not indicated a recommended spark plug for the 2nd Gen cars different from the OEM recommendations. So, just get a new set of your OEM plugs for peace of mind and you will be good to go. Also, I want to make sure that you know that we will all walk away with a hard copy of our dyno plots. If you have a flash drive bring it if you want to get the data for your runs. You can go to the dynojet site and download/install the PC app for the dataset. http://www.dynojet.com/downloads/software.aspx Alternatively, I can email your dyno run datasets to you after the tune.
