Boy, Bster13, you and I are almost identical. Add a 1/2 inch breaker bar and a bunch of bungie cords and you have it!
Some time ago I built a rear seat delete kit out of marine grade plywood and carpet with three doors held on by magnets. The middle door covers the rear seatbelt receptacles for the Schroth Harnesses, and the two larger outside doors cover the butt pockets for the former seats. That's where I store this gear, as well as a blanket, Multi tool/pocket knife and some candles/matches in a can (if stuck somewhere and low on gas, the candles in an old soup can can supplement the heat the interior of the car).
I also have gloves, a flashlight, window scraper and first-aid kit (self made for the real world) elsewhere in the cubbies/glove box in the car.
Oh - if heading to Bend Oregon, I also carry extra Balvenie Whisky for Scott (in Bend - of course!)
Good thread - I enjoyed it!

On my recent 1100 mile trip from the east coast to KC in my new-to-me-classic, I took:
Duct tape
Zip ties
didn't need either one of them.....
But I could have used a few tools, fortunately I have friends along the way!
I the future I will carry a few things,
Cash
Cell Phone
Credit Cards
AAA card
Screwdrivers - Phillips and flat
Pliers
Small crescent wrench
Duct tape
Zip Ties
Quart of oil
Spare Tire, jack and tire wrench
That's probably about all.....if I need anything more, that's what the first 4 items are for.
And most importantly - friends along the route!-

It increases the sound ALOT and did not come with any sound dampening at all.
I covered it in matching OEM carpet and put Dynamat on the floor and the bottom of the rear seat delete to bring the sound level down to acceptable level.
Then I went and had a custom straight exhaust made with (2) hollow "mufflers" made and it's very loud and I love it. It's not for everyone but hey I am far from Normal.
I know if I did not add the Dynamat it would be un drivable LOUD. :eek6:-

My Clubman has a fair amount of space under the floor in the back.
I carry:
A fire extinguisher. It's the first thing that I see when I open the trunk flap.
A 180 piece tool set, it is in a flat blow molded case so it doesn't really take up much space. It has just about any tool I might need to fix the MINI.
An OBD2 reader, In case I get a check engine light.
A Bentley manual.
Slime kit and 12v air compressor.
Jumper cables
Tire pressure gauge
Quart of oil, purchased when the car was new, never needed.
A couple of bright LED flashlights
A small plastic tarp.
First aid kit
A detail kit made up of Griot's spray on car wash, and microfiber towels.
Blankets
Moist towelettes
OEM jack and tool kit -
Only other thing I'd add to the Road Trip Tool Bag: One supercharger.
I'd use the other tools in your bag (that sounds so dirty) at the first opportunity to make the ultimate repair. -
