Just finished this mod to my '13 CR R59. The wheel was custom ordered and sourced from Nexon Motors (the CF MFSW inserts I already on-hand from CarbonMINI). The quality of this piece is unmatched (the pictures don't do the CF and Napa leather justice) and I am amazed how completely it changes the whole driving experience. Here's a side-by-side with my previous OEM wheel taken during the install that shows the difference in diameter: It was stupid expensive, but in retrospect worth every penny. One of the best mods I've made to any of my MINIs.
That looks awesome. This is the company, they only sell from ebay it seems. Steering Wheels, Airbags items in NEXON MOTORS store on eBay! Buy one from that link and M/A gets a commission.
And so is the price! I just about fell out of my chair. But seriously, this is expensive custom work to produce and you get what you pay for.
WOW that wheel looks damn good. I have the JCW leather & Alcantara wheel on my R53and its worth every penny when I drive. Nice floor mats, I have the same set.
Nothing, OP is 4' tall. That is the baddest wheel I've ever seen in a MINI. Stupid expensive, but sometimes you just gotta say WTF and burn that pile of c-notes in the driveway. That's what I tell my wife, anyway.
Yea, but how many times can you get away with that.........cause according to my wife I have hit the limit after 3
Well she like silver, coach, and anything CHRISTMAS related and so far she has not run out of things she wants and neither have I. I still keep paying and modding with what's left. Oh and she even buys car parts as gifts for me. yup this wife is a keeper. :ihih:
I just had a great idea for an invention - some kind of fabric or animal hide, cut and sewn in such a way that you could wear it over your hands, providing warmth.
If you tried a heated steering wheel you would just die! Can't live without heated seats? Try a heated steering wheel! OMG!
Do it... I use a bucket of hot water I sit in the passenger seat for hand dipping when it's really cold out... It gets a little complicated dipping and power shifting on the twisties.. Sounds like it could be a real hit you got there Blimey....
It definitely cuts off the view to the top portion of the tach...but I can get by nicely just by noting the position of the needle. What's nice is that the smaller wheel provides a more unobstructed view of the top AeroForce gauge, and if I want I can read out digital rpm in either of the two displays in that gauge. The shipping box this came in was smaller than many that show up on the front porch. My wife only pays attention to the big ones. :-D
