I watched this Neural Network / programming exercise for getting around a race track. You put a bunch of simulated cars at the starting line of a simulated track and run multiple iterations, selecting those where the programming was most successful, using the best examples as 'parents' for the next round of racers. I would have loved to see what happens with another 20 iterations... or 2M iterations, choosing the fastest car of each round as the 'parent'.
