Too bad it isn't totally blocked for a few months.
Would keep the TN LEOs away.

I was telling Mark/Lotsie that I will be going to the Dragon for the first time in May----in a MINIVAN. :frown5:
I'm taking our students to the area for the geology. I'll have to keep my eyes off the geology and on the road! :eek6: -
The TN DOT website, TDOT SmartWay - Tennessee Department of Transportation- is pretty darn good about publishing these issues. -

NEWS UPDATE:
We are looking at a long closure from the TN side approach to the Dragon. TDOT has said more than 30 days before US129 can be reopened. Looks like there is a 60 ton rock than is in danger of dropping on the road. 2 weeks just to get a plan together and get the bids in and probably a min of two weeks to complete work -

Off topic --- you Dragon veterans ... where's a decent inexpensive place to stay (with about a dozen or so students) in the Great Smokey Mountains? I am planning on staying a couple of nights in the area. Any suggestions? (We will be there around May 14.) A nice cabin would be great.
