I recommend the OEM roof rack that attaches at the rain gutters. They can carry the most weight and are very solid. It worked well for us when we used a roof box on my wife's clubman.

We had the OEM rain gutter rack on my wife's Clubman for a ski season. I really liked it, but we use my Countryman now.
