Yup, there are now numerous minis running the Rotiform wheels at 17x8 et30.
With a 205/40/17 tire stretched on, they fit great. You'll want the stretch for the clearance. Running a 215 or a higher profile tire would result in clearance issues when lowered. Look to the Falken 512's or atleast the 912's for the best stretch. -
coool! but I need spacers for these wheels with longer studs right? like 15mm spacer?
I just wanna make things clear before I will set an order and wanna ask advices from you guys cuz I'm not technically inclined. Although I start studying it bit by bit.
I'm dying to have this on my MINI. Thanks a lot for the help. Hope this will go through. -
Why would you need spacers with longer studs?
The wheel goes over the studs and then you put on the nuts. Unless you are using a closed end nut and it is not deep enough to take up all the space between the top of the stud and seat in the wheel. In that case pick up open ended nuts and there is not problem. -

Rotiform ? about R53 and used tires
I would like to get the Rotiforms. I have Yokahama Avid Envigor tires 205/40/17 with about 10k miles on them. I have rotated them once. They are on S lites atm. Any idea if these tires would work well? If so, should I trust a place like discount tire to mount this set up? I'm scared they won't know about "stretch" or worse will damage the wheels during installation.. any advice would be terrific. Thanks so much. -

You'd have to check the tread and see if you still have any life in them. I can't diagnose them over the internet, unfortunately.
I generally take my tires to places other than big chains that care a little more about your wheels. Those big chain companies are used to catering to your regular everyday car owner, not enthusiasts. Go to a place familiar with the aftermarket industry that will take care of your wheels and tires and is familiar with short sidewalls, sporty tires, and stretch. They'll get you taken care of and won't damage your wheels. 205/40 on a 17x8 isn't much stretch anyways. They're rated up to 7.5's...so it's only .25" stretch which isn't enough to cause any struggle for the tire mounter. -

It's a Cali thing. It works for some, just not my style. -

At 1.5 inches of drop, those should work well as long as the tire OD isn't too tall.
