I would never put Royal Pimple in my car ever, its crap.
The April 8, 2009 edition of Lube Report, a weekly email newsletter from Lubes 'N Greases magazine, carries a lead story by editor George Gill titled Truth in Advertising: BP vs. Royal Purple. As it turns out Royal Purple was taken to task by The National Advertising Division of the Council of Better Business Bureaus. The NAD recommended that Royal Purple discontinue making many of their performance claims due to faulty documentation and anecdotal evidence

I just looked through the article, but does it have zinc in it? I use it because of the zinc. Most oil doesn't have zinc anymore. I could be wrong.

I do not use Royal Purple & the reason I don't is that it costs more than I am willing to pay. For me Mobil 1 0w40 works swell in my MINI & my other cars.
If Royal Purple has zinc in it is good for flat tappet engines like your classic Mini. The zinc is not needed as much for cars with hydraulic lifters. The reason zinc has been removed is it kills converter efficiency over time.
I'm not sure running synthetic in a classic Mini or any classic is a good idea. Old seal technology sometimes has a hard time keeping synthetic oil in the engine.
There are other oils with zdp content & I believe there is an additive you can buy. For me a high quality dino oil with an additive is the way I'd go.

yes, I do buy it for the zinc. I was told there is zinc in it and I plan to keep using it. I am not a expert on this topic but I did stay at a holiday in.
