The problem isn't runflat or non-runflat, it's that people want to run ginormous wheels with rubber band tires, and absolutely no compliance.
Go back to a 15' or 16" wheel with a decent sidewall size and those problems disappear.

I drive my car on a daily basis. I get a flat tire about once every five years. Do I want a crappy ride every day, so I can drive my car on a flat once every five years? No.
Add in the fact that run-flats can cost twice what a better driving tire costs, and it seals the deal, for me.

There are NO winners? You're right Dave, MF is a bit touched. Run some timed laps on run rocks then timed laps with some Non RF sport tires. I had some high end RF's on my car when I first got it, they were Continental's, and supposedly a performance all season... Right.... I went on 1 track with them, All you get out of RF's asside from a crappy ride is under-stear. They're awful.

It's been 10 years since I dumped the runflats off my MINI and I'm not going back, in spite of various people telling me the 3rd 4th ... generation runflats are much better. Given the reaction of even the 3rd Gen car owners, it appears not.

I guess I just don't get why there's even conversation regarding these tires. Simply said, They Suck!
