How do I get sap off my poor mini? My parking spot at my new house is sadly under a tree that keeps dripping sap all over the place. What can I do other than cut the damned tree down?

Id hate to cut down such a nice big tree. It was probably planted when the house was built back in the 60s. But it def needs trimmed back.

Nail polish remover is a very strong solvent, it would be best for your paint NOT to do this. I believe this is basically Acetone.
If they are small then you can clay bar them off. If larger then use a mild solvent like mineral spirits or GooGone.

Unless you used a car polish product with wax in it to remove the spots, you will need to come back over the areas with a protective wax coat.

You should also spray the tree regularly to kill the bugs drooping on your car, if in fact that is your situation.

I've used WD-40 to good results.... I have two large pine trees out front.... Sometimes they've been known to weep sap...

Lighter fluid... The cheap stuff! It works and dries better than WD. ;)

When you are done, do not park under the tree again.

I'd park in the garage, but since we just moved in, its full of stuff that doesnt have a new home yet. Though now that the dumpster is gone I can get out from under the tree. Thanks for the info guys! Ill try out the WD-40 this evening since I only have one little spot left. The rest popped off with a little pressure from a finger nail.

Very warm water on a towel works really well to make the SAP liquid again and you can wipe it right off. It's it's fresh and not baked on for months.
