Well... Heh Heh Heh... They were thinking $$$$$$$.$$... That sucker sure was BIG... Reminded me of a four door 928.
I like the 928 better. That Panamera is an insult to my old eyes. You'd think for what they charge they could include invisibility paint on that thing.
When they first came out and still in the pics they look pretty sad..... But dang after seeing them and spending a little time with them in person....they have grown on me a lot and very easily could occupy a space in my dream garage.... Flame on.
Been seeing them for a while around my neck 'o' the woods. Not a Porsche. Not appealing to me. Same goes for the Cayenne.
Fond memories of riding in my G-dad's Crosley until it broke down and we came walking into his office one morning with the engine block under his arm.
On my way back from Sunbury Ohio I saw this running on the freeway. It had historical plates so I'm thinking it was genuine??? [/IMG]
Hard to tell from this angle. The knock-off spinners and side pipes are right. The seats and the dash are ususally the give away. The speedo was on the passenget side of the dash far far away fromt he driver and the seats that were original were mid-back bucket seats. Those things still don't prove authenticity but very rarely do they show up in knock-off cars. There are some VERY collectable copies from the same era on the market so the historical plate may not denote the genuine nature.
The little plate just behind the front wheel said it was a 427. Is sure sounded strong. If real, aren't we talking $ millions???
EEP! If I were getting ready to grill steaks and I saw something like THAT...SHRIEK!!! I can handle snakes, slugs, snails, ants...but flying bugs THAT BIG would be in a tie for first place with SPIDERS!
There are replicas that use original specs and have the "Power by Ford 427ci" fender emblems. It's not uncommon to drop any sort of big-block Ford in them including 427s (new race blocks still available from Ford Racing). Personally if I was going to make a replica I'd go the 5.0 Cammer route. :cornut: Millions? Not quite. A REAL (From the 60's) Shelby Cobra 427 in excellent condition is $700-800k. As far as the moth: :eek6: DAMN! :eek6:
Nice replica..... Sad that real ones are too valuable to see the light of day let along be driven on the street. Some of the replicas are done very well.
Thats not true around here. There are a handful of 289 and 427 Cobras that run around here. You see them at cars and coffee and occasionally running down a freeway.
