Yes something seems very odd about that. The folks at the Ohio DMV are not the smartest group of folks. ut:
When I lived in Ohio, cars with historical plates were exempt from the emissions testing & such; does that still hold true now? Here in Virginia, a LOT of vehicles have personalized plates. If a personalized plate offends someone, they merely contact the DMV and the DMV will review the complaint and many times the plates "are" ruled inappropriate and the owner needs to get a different set of plates. Unless the Virginia law has recently changed, vehicles with antique plates can only rack up a maximum number of miles per year; anything in excess renders the antique status as invalid and the vehicle must then follow the same yearly inspection standards as non-antique vehicles. So...perhaps someone needs to make an anonymous tip to Ohio DMV. Fair is fair and all that jazz! <end rant!>
From the Ohio DMV That said, it is quite possible that a repli-cobra is 25 years or older. They have been around for quite some time now.
Many folks in Ohio drive old beater cars around all the time with antique plates on them. It is not something that is checked much if at all. Folks with classics find it easy to stay within the bounds of the regs. When I had my MG with antique tags I was going to say I was testing out recent repairs (probably true) if the police asked. All I ever got from the police was a thumbs up though.
Just now took a break from sitting in my office staring at the monitor and decided to take the dog out for a walk in the Short North neighborhood...... Ninja's sneaking in the grass.... Ninja's climbing on the building...... Glad I had my Chihuahua with me.... [/IMG] [/IMG]
I was out making a delivery today. The weather was kind of bleak. Snapped this picture on North 4th street. [/IMG]
Actually, I kind of liked how the truck stayed in focus (kind of) but the buildings and telephone poles multiplied..... Yeah, I like playing with the Iphone HDR camera app.....
Just finished walking the dog in the park next door.... Man, what a beautiful day to be out in the neighborhood.... [/IMG]
You did have your poop bag and pooper scooper with you, I hope. Nice thing about living on a farm. Our dogs are "free range poopers". Jim
