Let's see....3 number plate, needs detailed from going through automatic car wash, sitting in executive parking at the Limited, short guy driving with a ball cap. Could it be..........Les?
The one at work is silver and Les doesn't park outside. There is a super secret garage for when he is in the building. I was actually thinking it might be Resick's because he has a habit of parking his very expensive cars outside for days at a time. One time, I saw his R8 sitting there on a Friday afternoon as I was leaving work and it was still there Monday morning covered in dust from the truck lot.
Had to run some errands and my neighbor down the street had this parked out front. , on the way back home he had his silver one with black wheels in the same place. The guy is a real car nut. This is his daily driver he parks on the street.....
Went to a family get-together this weekend. My niece's husband brought his Harley. While it is not a MINI I thought some of you might appreciate his handiwork. He has for the most part fabricated this entire bike. It started as a red stock harley last year. He cut the frame, stretched it, increased the rake, built all the supporting brackets for the modified faring, bent the exhaust himself, cut formed and fabricated the fenders. Did the body work, wiring etc. Let's see what else..... Oh yea, that is a custom 26 inch front wheel he had made. The front brake is a 16 inch rotor. The paint is all his work. It is now Lambo white with pearl topcoat and matte clear. Oh and it has air ride suspension. :biggrin5:
He did a nice job. I guess if we weren't modding a MINI, we would be spending our money on something else. Jim
Die Maintenance OK, I have a 90 ton break press that can bend 1/2" steel plate like butter..... A couple of my dies were starting to show some wear and I wanted to get them trued up. Took them over to a local machine shop to have them dressed. These dies are 1-1/2" x 3" x 120" long. They were installed on an old belt driven planer. Here's my video of one of the dies being worked on..... I just love these old machines doing what they do best. One swipe (12' stroke) is removing .020" of material..... be nice As we all know, A Honda Accord is a very high performance car to start with. If you add a scoop and hood latches and a great spoiler and stick a tach on the dash, then add a large fart box for the exhaust it makes it even more high performance. Throw in some graphics to scare off anyone that would want to race you and you end up with a truly wicked car.
OK....... My wife, who runs the office in our business, is at a horse competition event in Kentucky until this Sunday. While she's away, my buddy who owns a powder coat business cranked this out on his CNC plasma cutter and powder coated it a bright pink. I installed it this morning on the back wall where she sits, the sign faces our customers......
That could right next to the throne or put you in the dog house MM. Close call on that one. Jim
I am sooo jealous. I need that. I also run the family business and insist that the rest of the company (my husband) refer to me as "The Queen." He won't put it on the tax returns and he is lousy at polishing tiaras. *sigh*
