I don't care for those supposedly sporty SUV monstrosities either. People buy them so they will make them & sell them.
Ha! First new car I ever bought was an 1980 model and I think it and my current 2014 Mini are pretty close in size. I know where there are a few of those race prepped LeCar's, including one raced in the LeCar Cup by a team from Car and Driver Magazine. I've already put dibs on it.
Those LeCar Cup races were a lot of fun to watch. I remember a long train of them droning around Mid-Ohio in slow motion. It was close racing & a hoot to watch. I wish some maker would subsidize a one make series like Renault did back then.
Yep....my buddies dad and brothers all raced in that series. He and I were part of the crews and did a lot of prep work and helped out at the track. That's how I needed up buying a LeCar and why I want to make sure the ex C&D car doesn't end up in the scrap heap. It's a part of racing history and deserves to be preserved.
My neighbor, who is a Porsche aficionado, recently had his 356 undergo a complete ground up rebuild, then had an artist capture his Porsche in a painting.... Apparently he liked my shop as a backdrop.... http://www.jimmurrinart.com/paintings/new-work/
I like how he parked it right under my little red "No Parking" Your car will be towed sign..... Missed opportunity..... Dang it....
Isn't that where you parked Buzz the night he stayed at your shop? under the no parking sign? :biggrin5:
