    Anyone going?

I am thinking about it, but won't be sure until fairly close.

Let me know! Maybe we can get a MINI parking area!

    Tickets, pricing, etc, here.

I'd love to go but will settle for watching the broadcast...that is, if there is a broadcast.

    Sebring Coverage

    10:00am-11:00pm (L) - ESPN3.com - Streaming Internet Coverage
Sunday, March 20 12:30pm-2:00pm on ABC - Highlights show

Yeah, this sucks. The deal that ALMS made with ABC/ESPN makes most of the races availble live but streaming on the PC/Mac.

I can't find an entry list, guess I'm not a search engine wiz. Anyone know whether the new Ferrari F458 or the Audi R18 will be running?

On the Sebring International Raceway site, it says the R-18's were testing at the track and that two R15's will be in the 12 hour race, but no word on the R18's.

Didn't dig too deep as it it 2:30 in the morning and I am beat...:)

Want to watch the Sebring race...plant yourself in front a computer for 12 hrs.

The Mobil 1 12 Hours of Sebring, which takes the green flag on Saturday morning, will be the first test of the American Le Mans Series' new broadcast package, which includes live coverage that is available only online at ESPN3.com and, technically, Americanlemans.com. But because of a late adjustment announced on Wednesday evening, the broadcast offered on Americanlemans.com can be seen only by viewers outside the United States, including Canada and Mexico. If you want to watch from within the 50 states, you must have access to ESPN3.com.

ESPN3.com is different from many Web sites. It is viewable through many Internet providers, with a solid overall reach of 65 million potential viewers, approximately the same number of viewers the ALMS could reach with its previous TV deal. However, it is not available to everyone. If you happen to receive your Internet service through a non-ESPN3-affiliated provider, you can't watch its broadcasts. (ESPN3.com has a list of affiliated providers if you are unsure whether yours is included.) That means you have no option for watching ALMS races live in 2011, not even on Americanlemans.com, because the ALMS Web site will show the races via an ESPN3 player. So no ESPN3, no live viewing, period. ESPN3 does say, however, that "viewers on U.S. college campuses and military bases are always able to access ESPN3.com."

The ALMS had said earlier that anyone who wanted to watch on the sanctioning body's Web site would be able to do so separately from any ESPN3 requirements, but it announced on Wednesday that this is no longer an option because of ESPN's contracts with domestic affiliates.

There is, however, a 90-minute, tape-delayed summary of the Sebring race that airs on Sunday on ABC from 12:30 to 2 p.m. Eastern. It will be repeated on ESPN2.

All nine ALMS races in 2011, plus qualifying sessions, will be broadcast live on ESPN3.com. Four of those races (Sebring, Road America, Baltimore and Petit Le Mans) will then air on ABC, and five (Long Beach, Lime Rock Park, Mosport, Mid-Ohio and Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca) will air on ESPN2. All ABC race programs will be repeated on ESPN2.

Meanwhile, Speed TV will once again broadcast the 24 Hours of Le Mans this year.

That sucks. I guess I'll try that ESPN3 feed. Looks like they're also streaming the quali this afternoon starting at 2:55 PM eastern.

Be warned, I checked out ESPN3 this morning and after waiting, refreshing, and waiting more, my virus protection alarms went crazy and got hit multiple times before closing the window...the protection did it's duty, but I'm done with it. :incazzato:

EDIT: they were trojans and the url included espn3.com

I'm rather paranoid myself being this is my production computer and I had no issues on ESPN3.com. Using ESET for protection, set to ultra paranoid mode too.

What a crock... ALMS needs to pull their heads out of their butts and televise these races.

Not all of America likes NASCRAP.

Been watching the quali for a while and no problems so far.

They were following the Corvettes for a bit and that sound is incredible.

FWIW, there are both Ferrari F430s and F458s runing. I think one of the teams that was originally listed as planning to bring a 458 decided they couldn't get it sorted in time so they brought a more known quantity 430...and they just got the GT pole with it!

    Pros of this coverage type:

    There were no commercials.

    Cons of this coverage type:

Can't pause like I can when I watch on TV.

Picture quality sucks. Unless you watch it in the very small viewer module they have the images are not very good.

I have to watch from PC unless I go get an X Box or do some other magic to send the picture to a TV.

Color me not a fan of this coverage type. ALMS will get an email from me with my thoughts on this.

Given the quality of the picture via ESPN3 it was very ironic to hear the announcer a minute ago saying "fabulous HD picture from onboard!"

Worse, the one pro during quali was there weren't any commercials, they're showing them now...

Man, the track is rough... the cars practically bounce down the track.
