Cute, Chuck, m'boy. Actually, it was a tip in an old Popular Mechanix magazine that I read while growing up. Like a lot of kids back in the day, I had a go kart and the lock nuts that held the engine onto the frame always worked loose [so much for "locking"...lol]. The magazine suggested nail polsih, but later in life, I read somewhere about Loctite doing the job, too. The nail polish tip is a helluva lot cheaper than Loctite, though, and the only downside is having to put up with my fellow M0M curmudgeons.

wmwny Well-Known MemberYou can always spend a bit more money and get those tire valve caps that the club racers use to fill their tires without ever removing the caps.

Or you could pay to fill you tires with nitrogen and you get free green caps.

I've used metal caps for years on different cars and never had any problem with them. I have had to used pliers on plastic ones once.
-
Justa Jim has R56 caps, will they even fit on a 1st Gen?
-
wmwny Well-Known MemberI dunno if that really matters...or does it? I am sure the caps can fit or be fitted into many different scenarios. While it would be nice if they fit my R53, if they do not, I'll find another good use for them.

I am not sure they with work with the silly tire monitor systems. I could be wrong.
-
wmwny Well-Known MemberSorry, but I cannot as I don't have a digital camera or a cell phone with a camera. :frown2: I have seen these in auto parts stores, though. They are not expensive.
