Whilst in Africa, and in the service, in the early '70s along with our Mini's and Ducati's and Moto Guzzi's we had as our common use vehicle (re. party vehicle and motocross vehicle) an orange VW bus.
But I can't remember the year.
I do remember that the front windshield was actually 2 windows and that they were hinged on the top so you could open them to, um, well, to, well, so you could like allow different air in. Yeah. Different air. Whew.

My son-in-law drove a late 60's VW bus over the Dragon years ago, chasing the Gratefull Dead around
.
My first car was a 58 VW bug, nice little old lady paid me to take it away
