So I tracked down the dealer that sold my mini new in 07, they tell me that my mini has a service program that is good till Oct.10 2013 or 100,000 miles this a good thing. So why did the dealer just charge me for a oil change and give me recommend for brake fluid at 115.00 which will be free in 11days. I'm not mad yet but need to make a call.

Seems to me as though this MINI was sold with an Extended Service Policy from MINI. You don't mention if the original selling dealer and the current dealer are the same. It's quite possible that your service writer didn't take the extra minute to look up if the car has an ESP attached to it and if it was transferred. Might want to call MINI USA on this one. 800-ASK-MINI

It may depend upon when your MINI was last serviced. My Sister took her MINI in for its annual check up and she was less than a month shy of one year from the previous visit. Because she was "early" she had to pay for the oil change. Since she had driven over five hours to get to the dealership she was not about to leave and come back a few weeks later. While I thought this could have been handled differently from a customer service standpoint, the real reason for the visit was to have the timing belt tensioner replaced under warranty, which they did. Her MINI, by the way, is an 2008 S Coupe. The tensioner is a known issue with her model, not an issue for your 2007. It sounded like rods being flung out from under the hood on cold start. Now it purrs like a kitten again. (I still like my 2007 S Cabrio best, but don't tell her!)

I just purchased an extended warranty for my wife's Cabrio. I was told the extended warranty for the 2009 model is carried on the key with the service / diagnostic information for the dealer. It will be interesting to see how it goes for the next 70000 miles... Don't 07's have the pendent or what ever we call the fat little black round things?

So I went back to the dealer for my ESP , and no it wasn't the dealer that sold it new they were great, said they gave it no thought a car that I bought used would have a ESP.Took care everything needed & told me when my other service would be done. Free oil change for the next two years. wipers every 6ms, one more brake fluid in two years, radiator flush is on me need to get that done. They are sending a check 147.00 for the oil change that billed me for.
