This was a tire and wheel package from tirerack.com. The wheels are sport edition 16" with a 4x100 bolt pattern, they saw 4 seasons of winter action so they have a few scratches. The tires are nearly new (used for 1 season). They are Michelin Primacy Alpin 195 55r16 run flats. I had them on a '03 Mini Copper S.

    $500

No need for sensors. Your MINI will do fine without them unless your wife makes you buy them like mine did.

Wouldn't the alert light be on all the time? On those cars equipped with sensors, that is.

Right, the TPMS system was kind of linked with the traction control. There were no sensors in the wheels. When the tire pressure changed, the traction control would sense it and the light would come on.

Think it was the ABS sensor on the early cars, but that's the same one as the traction nanny uses.

Yep the light will be on. Ignore it or go with some duct tape. :D

    I see.
Do the newer models not have the reset button?

They have a reset, but it is not a button on the console like our early cars. On my wife's R55 clubster I have to push a button on the end of the turn signal stalk & toggle through a bunch of things to get the tire reset part.
