I feel kind of dumb asking this but I keep seeing nam getting referred to as the "sewing site"....why is that? What does that mean?

Its a rather mundane story that's been turned into legend. Sit down kids....grab some cocoa or a beer. Way back in the early days of M/A, back even before The Great Data Debacle there was a bloke that brought up a hypothetical question about the loss of the learned knowledge gathered over multiple years on a website. This mystical site is old in internet time with 10's of thousands of members over the years proffering their knowledge. Over time this site grew and grew, finally outgrowing itself and the long slippery slope of decline started. The concern is that site will eventually implode bashing all that collective knowledge to the 1's and 0's that combined into billions of octets, each a very small piece of that grand design. Much like a majestic mountain is worn to sand. This hypothetical site is known as the "sewing site". And that kids is how we came to the M/A term of "sewing site". Now finish your cocoa, or beer and go forth, spread the story of the sewing site so it will forever remain in the legends and lexicon.

Nothing to do with nothing, but I would say that next to Nitro I am probably the most banned person on the sewing site. Under a multitude of identities and one of them even carries a life time ban twice. Some were banned for being disrespectful to myself. I guess self depreciating humor is a big no-no over there. And since I know they read MA regardless of how inconsequential they think it is: Yes, I still have a half dozen active identities on there. No, you can not catch me. As a matter of fact I am thinking of starting a Myanmar Islamic Mini Club for just my aliases. We (I) will hold our meetings on Fridays. ut:
