Yay!! I can't wait to see it!
Riding behind you on the way there and back I can assure you that exhibited nothing but skillful driving. And I meant to remind you to get that stick out from under your car once you got home. I noticed it in the Killboy pics (did you see the great shot of the CRs from the back all in a shiny row?).

I did see the CRs shot. That was a fun inaugural run. Next year we will get more CRs to join in! :cornut: -

Please add all the people with their loud mufflers...who thought they were Harleys to this list...

I saw alot of MINI Owners...Veterans and New People speeding at the Dragon and at Fontana Village...so add those people to the list.
If you ever committed a sin in your MINI...How can you cast a stone at someone, who committed a sin in his MINI?...
The proper way is to educate people...maybe the first night by giving a safety brief showing improper driving and the effects. -
I am not trying to argue, just not understanding your point. -

Most exhausts sounded really good and were tastefully done...but there were some that were just deafening to the ears...my opinion and ears.
I'm trying to say that if you've never broken the law...then you can shame people as much as you want or humiliate them...
But how are you going to shame people if you've (generalization) broken the law...extremely loud exhausts above allowed state regs...speeding above the posted speed limits...etc...etc...
If you see someone that did something wrong during a drive...go talk to the person to the side...by explaining about the double yellow lines and the effects...or...do a safety brief prior to every drive.
You need to educate people...not humiliate them. -

N2MINI MINI of the Month
Like I said before everyone knows not to cross the yellow line it's the law on every rode.
The consequences are just magnified on the Dragon big time!!! Everone knows they need to be safe some of us just do a better job of it then others..
For that matter I like Killboy being out there taking pics as I've bought some over the years and really the only reason I made a run up Sat as I have new wheels and wanted some pics with them on there, BUT I noticed in one spot on my way out from Deals Gap there were 4-5 cars parked on the right hand side of the road ( they are usually on the left going in my direction ) they had a pop up shelter with a whole group of people and what looked like younger kids there as well taking pictures. My first thought when I saw the cars on the right was there must be a wreck.. Then saw the shelter thingy and knew what was going on then, but that can be a major distraction for someone who doesn't know they are out there.. -

I agree with you...my point wasn't about just exhausts...it was about breaking laws and pointing fingers at other people...
How can someone point fingers at other people...when they...themselves break the same laws...or any law. -

You can always pass your concerns to the various motoring clubs...then they can bring it up at their meetings (safety brief).

There are fast good drivers, moderate drivers , beginners, ect. that stay between the lines. Then there are drivers who think the Dragon and other roads are race tracks that do not obey the rules. But the ones that really Piss me off are the ones that race around Fontana Village trying to show off, they're just plain idiots :mad5:
As for exhaust, mine is "tuned" and I drive at revs that keep the tone down until I'm out on a run, away from the crowds.
People need to know their cars and be aware of what's going on around them, but some are just plain stupid :mad2:

ps, I do think a drivers meeting or handout through registration would be a good idea -

I worked registration this year and plan to again next year, too. I will make a point of reminding drivers as they come through the line to motor safely and stay on their own side of the road. Maybe some signs at the registration table. . .or something we can put up at all the exits. . .something big and bold that won't be missed by even the most oblivious of drivers.

Good idea Dawn...the more visible reminders of driving safety, the better!

Please PM or email me anything I can do.

I had taken this corner many times at a much faster pace but was obviously driving too fast for the conditions. No one was injured (except my poor MINI) and it spent the rest of the week in front of the Detroit Tuned tent as a reminder to all of what can quickly happen when you lose focus for an instant. A piece of my MINI still hangs on the Tree of Shame.
My point is...I can definitely, with no feeling of hypocrisy, point my finger at the aforementioned lane-crossers and say, "Shame on you!". I made a mistake and have paid for it, financially and emotionally, but the pain would have been multiplied tremendously if I had injured or killed someone because of my own stupidity. -

My point is that...unless you are "Jesus"...you shouldn't be pointing anyone out or humiliating anybody...
Do what we do in the military...Safety Stand Down...We will do a mandatory safety training before we start driving. -

Give everybody the safety training every year before they drive and not just the new people on the first day.
"Before we start driving...we have a mandatory safety training and issues to go over that needs to be covered."
