    I tried the method where you drive the car around a right-hand turn as fast as you can, bracing yourself with the shift knob because you didn't realize you were going that fast. Right at the apex of the turn, the knob will fly off of the gearshift, bounce off of the sunroof and clock you in the forehead.

    Once you change pants and clean up the seat, you can push the new knob into place.

    Actually... as soon as I got back to my desk after that drive, I ordered a Whalen shift knob that comes with a locking mechanism so that won't happen again.

    I cannot take credit for the artwork, it was created by StoopidGirl. The only thing I can take credit credit for is commissioning her to create some cartoons for an ill fated MINI themed online magazine I was once editor of.

    I tried the method, where you kneel on each seat, directly over the knob and pull upward, being careful not to hit yourself in the mouth. Well, I wasn't careful enough it turned out. :D

    LOL seriously becareful. I almost punched myself in the face removing my shift knob. You have to pull real hard and there is no indiaction it is breaking free. It just pops off.
