I have been looking at shift knobs for the Mini, and just caught up on one of the threads about someones shift knob.
I know I am a dinosaur but what happened to leather shift knobs. No one seams to have one. I just don't like metal. What I want is a nice old fashion leather shift knob. And I am not going to pay $200 for it, call me cheap if you want but there is not that much value in a part like that.

    Am I alone?

I like the Whalen metal ones but I also understand the leather need. (For a shift knob not hand and leg restraints.)

    No.

Even though the 'showy' part is "carbon fiber", I do like like my JCW knob. Leather to the touch, CF to the eyes.
