    Hi everyone,

I dont know if anyone else has had this issue and I cant seem to find a solution anywhere online. I can shift fine into each gear however, when its in the neutral position and I just move it from side to side it takes both hands! Its gotten harder and harder. And because of this, it makes shifting from 2nd to 3rd very hard. It goes into the gears fine. Its just getting it over there thats the problem because I have to do that horizontal move in neutral in order to get to 3rd gear.
I hope this makes sence and I surely hope someone has a solution. My car is a 2006 mini convertible. NON-S
    thanks all!!

Year / model of your MINI?
Sounds like a partially frozen shift cable. One cable handles left/right, the other handles up/down.

If that's the case, fix is replacement of the cable.
