Hah, I gotcha beat, I recorded all my engine sounds onto my iPad Pro Air and via a mini cell tower dongle, ima transmittin these glorious sounds. As I pass other drivers listening to their bass thumper pounding sound systems, my mini cell tower interrupts their "noise" and my engine sounds take over and start blaring out of their sound systems. Then because of superb rev matching skills on my part, I blow by them and my glorious sounds are picked up by the next unsuspecting thumper pounding speaker head. All this out of my custom made "short and stubby"......
Is it true that the antenna on top of the car is mostly for am frequencies and that the fm antenna is on the back window/windows?
I'm thinking that MINI realized that lots of people were buying aftermarket ones so they jumped in with the "Sport" version to capitalize on the lost sales.
Nope, in fact the one review of it on Amazon says in areas of poor reception it is worse than the OEM standard one. Much like we've all found out with all the other short versions out there. They seem to be all the same, the only difference is the design. I figure you can't go wrong with any of them. Pick the design you like and go from there.
Ended up getting an oem sport antenna. Works great! Noticeable lose of reception in hd channels in rural areas though. All in all I like that the color and texture matches the base of the antenna on the roof.
