Question F60 Countryman Should I buy a new Countryman S tomorrow? And if so, which?

    For the last couple of days I have been looking for a new Countryman S to buy. Anyone have any ideas about whether an ALL4 is more fun (let's just say as a daily driver - I'm not doing any "real" racing or anything) vs. FWD? The one with the specs I like so far is the Chestnut color and an ALL4 - I like it, but I like the Island Blue FWD better! I only drove the S ALL4, not a FWD S yet. Assume the rest of the specs are the same...

    As an aside, I also drove a 2018 JCW (so fun!) Is it worth 15K and not buying "tomorrow" to get a JCW instead of the S? The S drives just like my current (FWD) car, so that's what I'm used to.

    Also read the article here about AirPlay being included in the ZTP in 2018 July and newer models, but none of my spec sheets have that code listed. Wondering if anyone knows if that is as great as it sounds or not. Again, hold off? Or buy tomorrow?!?

    Any reason I shouldn't buy a new 2018 Cooper Countryman S (or ALL4) tomorrow?

    I'm a Gen 1 owner of 2 '06 R53s, one modded and the other bone stock. To me, a Gen 1 S is the ONLY way to go. If it's space you want, then go for the Countryman, but it's a lot bigger and in no way is it mini at all. Compared to the Gen 1s, that Countryman is a boat! Color shouldn't be a factor if you just like the way it drives, unless you are going for a color that attacts millenials.

    If I remember correctly the all4 is mostly a front wheel drive car. It will send more power to the rear wheels when needed. Unless you live somewhere that snows a lot and need it I would not get the all4. It will add weight you don’t need. If you want a JCW then don’t settle for the S. I bought a car once and didn’t get what I really wanted and regretted it.

    So should you buy tomorrow? Only if that car is everything you want.

    HA!! That's the one I drove yesterday!! I just thought they were asking a bit too much for it? There's one in Buford too....

    My friend and I were of the "those are not MINIs" but after doing a BRP tour with a group that included a new All4 Countryman and a new Clubman, we were like "wow". Those things did handle the twisties with no issues.

    Love it! I have only seen Island Blue with a white top/stripes- the black looks very sharp!!

    Lol - wasn’t planning on her helping. She was there watching me do something then jumped in. It was great.. helped me get it apart pretty quickly.. and some things are way easier with two folks.
