Thank you. We love all of our MINIs and Mini. Each one is such a blast to drive. Reggie is such a sweet little car and was very well taken care of before coming to us. If only he could talk, I would love to know more about his previous life. His paint and interior are all original and rust was nearly non-existent so we know he was garaged. We found some items under the back seat that indicate that he had a family but they were very clean and extremely neat. I have a feeling that he was a commute car that the kids road in on occasion. I have found a great deal of information about the UK Sidewalk version but not too much about the re-branded Tartan version. Even if I could I am sure that it would all be in Japanese. My 2007 MINI is a Sidewalk so I know where the name came from; why the first version was called a Sidewalk, I have no clue. The Tartan name makes a great deal more sense. The side badging on the Tartan is a Scottish Bagpipe Player. That was the symbol for my High School so as the comedian says "Their's your sign." Reggie and I were meant to be together.

Great Looking Original Mini! I was surprised that it was a '95, it looks just like the one my buddy had on my first tour to Germany. His was a '67 and had the 1275 Super Cooper S engine with 2 Webber 2 barrel carbs and 4" wide wheel flares and wheels that look like yours but were 8" wide and had tires that looked like refugees from Willow Springs. He and I embarrassed several 911's and a couple of Corvette's on the narrow roads built for ox carts! Beautiful looking little piece of history you have there!

Am I sensing a Highlander Alumni?
-
Yes you are. Love those bagpipes! We even had a real live Scottie "McTavish" as our mascot. I guess once a highlander, always a highlander.

We also have a Mini Tartan Limited Edition. 1995, white roof and BRG lower. Ours also a JDM import RHD. About 67,000 kms now, and except for an alternator replacement, running perfectly. 1275 SPI engine very drivable. Buffed the paint to bring back the sparkle and will be shortly redoing the wood dash veneer. Car is our 5th original Mini, also owned a 2003 JCW MCS, which we sold to buy this one. If you take a look at my user album you can see some pictures there.
