It took me a few moments to figure out what happened, but I like the "What's New" tab at the top. That lets me see the 'new posts' and 'watched threads', which is what I care about 95% of the time I come here. I like the change.

I very much like the "What's New" drop down menu. It's almost always my first stop on the site. :)

Was able to do the platform update today without down time. Its a "dot" release to fix some bugs etc. Let me know if you see any issues or anything messed up.

    Thanks,

    Josh

Just a quick look and it looks good to me. It will be good to get the market section up. Each Sponsor having there own page design sounds good.

Still working on the updated organization of the site - feel free to comment here if you like some of the changes or not. Its still a work in progress, but ideally you will see more "top level" content and less sub forums. The goal is to make it easier to find the information you are looking for with less clicks.

So over the weekend, made some significant updates to the forum layout. There is still more to go. Started working on the menu system and ran into a bug I'm trying to figure out. Not able to stare at any more code tonight so going out to work on cleaning the garage up so I can do some work on the GP this week. Let me know if what you like and don't like about the forum organization. I still have a lot to do, especially in the technical section. That said, would love your feedback for where it is right now. Ultimately, is it easier to find things? To much scrolling?

I’m not as big of a fan of the new What’s New over the New Post when using my iPhone.

Thanks for the feedback on this. I need to look into that. The “What’s New” and “New Post” are the same page.. I.e. if you click on whats new or click on new post will take you to the same place. What is odd is it should have sub menu for Watched threads etc.. was working Sunday so I need to look at that.

Also - I assume the comment is two fold that you didn’t want to have to hit the sub menu for “new post” - if that is the case just click on whats new and it will take you to the “new post”.. and why would “Whats New” have a sub menu with “new post” only.

Is that correct or was the concern something else?

@00Mini - so figured it out. If you are not logged in, you do not see watched threads etc.. as the system doesn’t know who you are. So back to your feedback, does the above explanation help or are is there something you would like to see. Again - thanks for feedback, keep it coming. :)

I wish just the new post was it’s own button on the front page without having to click what’s new.

Maybe you can add a just “new posts’ button buy our user login or the mail and likes flag.

    All -

I wanted to provide a quick update and get some feedback. Now that the site is moved to the new host and most of the host migration issues are solved, I'm back to working on the site. If all goes well we will see the following "major" changes to the site:
    1. Market will be created - this will include:
      1. Sponsor section - their own web page type design. (Still being designed)
      2. Classifieds - similar to the test classifieds I previously tried. Here is a link to the "test" (feedback welcome) https://www.motoringalliance.com/showcase/category/classifieds.13/
      3. Reviews section - this will allow you to post product, dealer, parts and independent shop reviews
    2. Clubs - new section which will bring back the "clubs" section of the site. Currently their forums are in the "forum" part of the site. Its challenging to navigate to their forum and doesn't allow them to customize their forum etc.
    3. Site Organization - I'm still working through this. During the platform migration we collapsed a number of forums into "big" forums. The concept was this would put the information in one place and we would use "prefix" to filter and organize. I think I went a bit to far on that. So I'm working some updates that will break the topics out and bring them back to top level. For example, what are your thoughts on this organization for the 1st Generation Category and descriptions:
    1st Generation Organization.JPG

I also want to cut down the prefix for less clutter. Here is the list of Prefix I'm thinking. These will allow a quick filter on specific topics.

    1stGenPrefix.JPG
Let me know your thoughts or if I missed something. Once we agree, I will update each Generation with this type of format. I also think we should break out the Countryman into its own section. Thoughts?

Researching this to see if there is some way to do this at that level. I.e. next to login etc. Or have it when you login it automatically takes you to "What's New".

Again - let me know your thoughts. They are always greatly appreciated!!

    Josh

Quick update - I will be working on updating some of the forum organization. This will be bringing some of the older organization back.. and top level a few items. As always, would love the feedback.
