This exact sequence yesterday on Chrome except: Redirect to: Bizrate Tried it again and : 'One Moment...' then to goodmayor.com Weird stuff this. I've had no problems today using good old fashioned IE. Zapski's take on this makes sense as the hole thing started a few days ago when I selected M/A from my favorites and Norton immediately blocked a virus. Got that dealt with then retried M/A and all this silliness started.
I was being redirected this morning when I was on my Mac laptop tethered to a phone. I ran ping and traceroute on the console: $ ping www.motoringalliance.com PING www.motoringalliance.com (213.184.126.162): 56 data bytes 64 bytes from 213.184.126.162: icmp_seq=0 ttl=49 time=310.408 ms 64 bytes from 213.184.126.162: icmp_seq=1 ttl=49 time=277.379 ms $ traceroute www.motoringalliance.com traceroute to www.motoringalliance.com (213.184.126.162), 64 hops max, 52 byte packets 1 192.168.43.1 (192.168.43.1) 2.572 ms 1.912 ms 1.720 ms 2 172.26.96.161 (172.26.96.161) 138.116 ms 20.574 ms 57.663 ms 3 172.16.126.124 (172.16.126.124) 67.586 ms 172.16.126.100 (172.16.126.100) 170.230 ms 172.16.126.124 (172.16.126.124) 115.597 ms 4 12.249.2.49 (12.249.2.49) 61.057 ms 128.804 ms 111.378 ms 5 12.83.180.82 (12.83.180.82) 104.365 ms * * 6 gar23.sffca.ip.att.net (12.122.114.5) 32.149 ms 29.285 ms 45.913 ms 7 192.205.32.210 (192.205.32.210) 58.275 ms 73.471 ms 76.658 ms 8 ae-117-3503.edge3.london1.level3.net (4.69.166.138) 179.157 ms ae-116-3502.edge3.london1.level3.net (4.69.166.134) 183.743 ms ae-115-3501.edge3.london1.level3.net (4.69.166.130) 179.120 ms 9 ae-115-3501.edge3.london1.level3.net (4.69.166.130) 173.632 ms 188.868 ms ae-117-3503.edge3.london1.level3.net (4.69.166.138) 166.547 ms 10 bezeq-inter.edge3.london1.level3.net (212.113.15.78) 172.462 ms 195.081 ms 216.898 ms 11 bzq-219-189-153.dsl.bezeqint.net (62.219.189.153) 246.571 ms bzq-219-189-5.dsl.bezeqint.net (62.219.189.5) 239.809 ms bzq-179-72-241.cust.bezeqint.net (212.179.72.241) 247.476 ms 12 bzq-179-124-186.cust.bezeqint.net (212.179.124.186) 240.345 ms bzq-114-65-2.cust.bezeqint.net (192.114.65.2) 232.201 ms bzq-179-124-29.cust.bezeqint.net (212.179.124.29) 268.281 ms 13 bzq-114-65-2.cust.bezeqint.net (192.114.65.2) 250.264 ms bzq-168-58.dsl.bezeqint.net (62.219.168.58) 247.213 ms bzq-179-124-186.cust.bezeqint.net (212.179.124.186) 254.732 ms 14 bzq-179-124-186.cust.bezeqint.net (212.179.124.186) 265.885 ms 278.841 ms bzq-168-58.dsl.bezeqint.net (62.219.168.58) 235.418 ms 15 bzq-82-80-224-188.cablep.bezeqint.net (82.80.224.188) 263.970 ms 242.059 ms responseil.com (213.184.126.162) 244.973 ms !Z 16 bzq-82-80-224-188.cablep.bezeqint.net (82.80.224.188) 251.901 ms 242.360 ms responseil.com (213.184.126.162) 235.810 ms !Z 17 responseil.com (213.184.126.162) 340.863 ms !Z 409.239 ms !Z 411.333 ms !Z Now back at home, I access the website fine (on the same laptop) and I get these results: $ ping motoringalliance.com PING motoringalliance.com (199.91.124.20): 56 data bytes 64 bytes from 199.91.124.20: icmp_seq=0 ttl=51 time=61.999 ms 64 bytes from 199.91.124.20: icmp_seq=1 ttl=51 time=104.372 ms $ traceroute www.motoringalliance.com traceroute to motoringalliance.com (199.91.124.20), 64 hops max, 52 byte packets 1 onhub.here (192.168.86.1) 2.423 ms 1.341 ms 0.923 ms 2 96.120.89.157 (96.120.89.157) 20.053 ms 10.833 ms 10.085 ms 3 te-0-7-0-1-sur04.sfpine.ca.sfba.comcast.net (68.86.142.13) 11.280 ms 11.539 ms 12.891 ms 4 be-312-ar01.hayward.ca.sfba.comcast.net (162.151.79.89) 11.256 ms 11.541 ms 11.452 ms 5 hu-0-19-0-0-ar01.santaclara.ca.sfba.comcast.net (68.85.154.253) 13.252 ms hu-0-19-0-1-ar01.santaclara.ca.sfba.comcast.net (68.85.57.177) 13.578 ms hu-0-0-0-1-ar01.santaclara.ca.sfba.comcast.net (68.85.57.145) 17.204 ms 6 be-33651-cr01.sunnyvale.ca.ibone.comcast.net (68.86.90.93) 12.539 ms 12.686 ms 28.516 ms 7 he-0-11-0-1-pe02.529bryant.ca.ibone.comcast.net (68.86.86.146) 17.657 ms 17.632 ms 13.016 ms 8 50.248.118.238 (50.248.118.238) 21.354 ms 14.846 ms 13.026 ms 9 be2015.ccr21.sfo01.atlas.cogentco.com (154.54.7.173) 13.455 ms 14.083 ms 14.023 ms 10 be2132.ccr21.mci01.atlas.cogentco.com (154.54.30.54) 56.452 ms 56.803 ms 56.895 ms 11 38.104.86.86 (38.104.86.86) 62.562 ms 205.287 ms 63.665 ms 12 te2-1.cr04.mci02.awscore.net (162.208.87.6) 86.100 ms 73.247 ms 63.723 ms 13 motoringalliance.urljet.com (199.91.124.20) 62.417 ms 62.837 ms 67.436 ms My router at home uses Google DNS servers. Okay, it's pretty clear that someone is hijacking the DNS. I get 213.184.126.162 very consistently when I move over to tethering and 199.91.124.20 when I'm not. Edit: but the DNS hijack is only happening when I tether to my AT&T phone. Doesn't happen when I tether to my T-Mobile phone.
It happened again to me last night at about 9:20. I tried accessing the site several times before midnight with no success until again this morning. If'n it means anything we use our cable provider Suddenlink for internet access.
Question for everyone, are we possibly using the same provider, I'm using ATT bundled with my DirecTV package. The reason I ask, is that it's only happening to me when I use my home Wi-Fi network, been happening all weekend and the only reason I'm able to access now is by simply switching back to my sprint network over cell phone, didn't realise it then, but same applies Friday when I first noticed it.
We're on AT&T running thru a brand(?) wireless router. I tried loading M/A with firefox a minute ago and nuttin'. Got on this time with IE by shortcutting to a M/A group then on to the forum. There's no consistency to making access. Chrome, however, is right out. I don't think AT&T is the issue. I've got a tablet I run thru a Verizon jetpack and the same thing happens with the 'youforgottorenew' BS.
I've been unable to log on with my Pc since Saturday. Ww2 stuff that redirects me to random pages. However using my iPhone (as I am right now) everything works peachy.
I have had no problems, ever, with my Apple laptop or my Windows 7 PC... Of course..... my puters wear protection... Because internet...
Ever since I found the M/A- M/A responsive thingy, mine's been working perfectly. IE on Win 10. I also haven't had any issues signing in from school, I have no idea who carries their service, but they're all on Win 7 and IE, Chrome or Firefox - no issues with any of them.
We think we have found the source of these issues. Not related to the mobile responsive. Will update shortly. Sorry for the inconvenience.
Seems as there is some odd DNS issue going on. Working with the host to get resolved. BTW. I can't log in from home right now either. This login is from The Ohio State University Hospital while I drink 2 qts of water in perpetration for a CT Scan. Oh joys.
I confirmed that it was a DNS issue when I saw it happen yesterday. Networking on my Mac is normally set up to use the DNS of the service provider. Pinging motoringalliance.com was being directed to 213.184.126.162. After I changed the networking to use Google DNS (8.8.8.8), pinging reported 199.91.124.20.
Took us a while to find the issue. Thanks to the help ya'll gave us we were able to figure out that sometimes there would be an odd redirect due to a rogue DNS setting. Made the adjustment on Sunday but it took a bit of time to propagate.
