The floor is excellent. I always wanted to do my garage properly (nice cabinets, draining tile floor, air / power from the ceiling) but never had a place were I could really do it until the home we bought about 5 years ago. I put the floor down before we even moved in to the house... was nice, actually, as we had the movers place the big furniture in the house and all of the boxes in the garage (they were sitting off of the concrete floor, so they wouldn't absorb moisture from the floor). That way, we could move into the house one box at a time and not feel like we were living in a sea of boxes. It took longer that way, but it was a more comfortable way to do it... and it helped me sell the wife on the expense, which wasn't really that bad. It took me 1 hour to lay the landscape fabric down and do 90% of the tile work. It took me another 2-3 hours to do the perimeter as those tiles had to be measured and cut. The draining tile under the cars catches any rain / snow dripping and will allow draining out of the garage doors if there is a massive amount of water (a slight slope on the garage floor), but most of it just evaporates. If I were to be forced to move tomorrow, I'd probably order the exact same tile for the next house. The other excellent additions were the cabinets / workbench from Lowes and the spring-loaded reels on the ceiling w/ a compressed air line and a power line. It makes working in the garage very convenient. I just added a heavy bench vice to the work bench a few weeks ago... I'm amazed I made it 5 years without that thing. If you have a dedicated garage workspace, just order one... $50 on Amazon and well worth the price. One of these days I'm going to finish and paint the garage walls... Now that Rufus is done other than upkeep and repairs, maybe I'll get to it.
We got about 4 inches of snow last night. Thanks Santa..... I'm sure many kids in my neck of the woods are over the moon about the snow. This old guy, not so much. Here's an old snow MINI picture. Not going out to take one, heck it's 15 out.
Since my Meotter went to a new home Skooby now gets a garage space. It stays cleaner longer, but it is the designated snow car so it won't stay clean long.
I was hoping to see some pictures from Texas MINI Motorers this week. Northern Texas got a lot more snow than those of us in the Pacific NW.
Put some winter tires on your car. Snow Shmow. You will be surprised how well MINIs go in winter conditions.
It brings me great joy passing slipping & sliding SUV's in Skooby the snow machine. Michelin Ice-X 3's FTW....
and on that video, he got passed by another MINI and he was busy looking at the accident and did not wave. Boo on him.
