I had planned on staying home Monday night, but had to run to the pharmacy here in town for an emergency supply of anti stroke Eliquis...just as the snowstorm was dumping 2+" per hour. The pharmacy is 8 miles from my house, over and back, plus the wait to get the order and took me about 3 hours to get back home on unplowed roads. When I got to my unplowed street, I couldn't see where the edges were so I straddles what I thought was the center of the road for about a mile. Wouldn't you know it...just before the turn was a COP having, I guess, a donut break...I mean, WTF was he even doing there, parked and with the engine running? He musta choked on those donuts when he saw my S moving slowly past him as I "saluted" with my window cracked open for him to see me.

I kinda lived on tylenol for 2 days and slept one day for 14 hours and another 15 on the third day, each time I was up I took tylenol, I did run a fever at 101 for a day. 2nd shot was a little harder for me, many folks have no symptoms, I think some of us old guys get hit harder, but all the symptoms point to your immune system doing it's job. So MASK up. Enjoy some nice drives and stay safe.

My wife hit a pothole on the way home from Nashville and got a small split in one of the run flats. The weather was very bad. She made it to a rest stop and I went and picket her up.-

Crashton Club CoordinatorThe older I get the less I like snow. Heck I used to love the snow & get out in it as much as I could. How times have changed.
Snow isn't hard to deal with if you have the right mindset. Trouble is many people don't. The village idiots we have are in their 4wd SUV's who think they are immune from the laws of physics & common sense. Love seeing them in the ditches.
Safe travels Lee. Slow & steady will get you through.-

The numbnuts tearing down the house next to us cut our fiber connection for internet/TV/phone. They didn't just pull it up... they CHOSE to cut the line, thinking that if the pole is on the SHARED property line, any wires coming down it must be for their house only. Luckily AT&T gave me a next-day appointment and we are now re-connected to the world.

If any of you MINI Motorers are ever up here in Canada in the Vancouver BC area (after they reopen the border crossings), let me know. We'll do a fish n chip run there.-

I've got Rufus w/ the front end up on jack stands. I got a screw through a tire and I decided that I'd rather just go ahead and get the front 2 replaced (a bit of excessive wear on the inner edge due to some excessive neg camber for my use), so I ordered up 2 new tires from TireRack and I've got their new mobile mounting service, ASAP Tire, coming out tomorrow to put 'em on.

agranger MINI of the Month June 2009Supporting MemberI had never seen it before, so I was surprised as well.. If you choose the mobile service when you buy the tires, they will ship the tires directly to the mobile service. After your order processes (2-3 min), you get an email from ASAP Tire to set the appointment. I gave 'em a few extra days to be safe (good thing, as there was a delay) and have an appointment for tomorrow afternoon. It costs around $25/tire for mounting/balancing... a fair price, IMHO, considering that I don't have to do any of the work or lug wheels/tires around and wait in some greasy waiting area while I wait for a tech to free up to mount and balance my tires.
They also have a pre-payment option so it's very COVID safe. I pre-paid, so really I could just open the garage door from inside the house and point him in. Rufus already has the front end up in the air and the front wheels off, so it should be an easy job for the tech.
I'll report back tomorrow, after the service is done.
Poor Rufus hasn't been out (the tires are really slick when the weather is near freezing) lately. I'm hoping for some continued dry weather this weekend so I can get him out for a spin.-

I ordered some Continentals, got the last 4 they had. No mobile service where I live, bummer. I called the recommended installer to ask if they could get the helmet on the lift. He said for cars that low they used blocks of wood to get it high enough to put on the lift but they charge extra. So when they get the tires I will put the helmet on jack stands and take the rims to them

Discount Tire or Tirerack Direct for wheels and tires if the price is right for you. I am looking for a set for my Clubby, winter tires for next year and some sticky tires for summer drive around and track days, I keep coming back to an 18 inch Enkie Wheel looks ok and weights about 21.6lbs, everything else is in the 25-28lb range. Price is tolerable. We shall see. The run around tires might be a set of Nitto's summer rated or nt01 or nt05 for driving to the track and back home.

Went to a cars and coffee. It was down town so I stoped by a sore my stepfather and brothers owned. The family sold it once they passed on. It’s being renovated, it’s a little bitter sweet.

I installed a mesh WiFi network at the house... a 4 hub Deco X60 (Wifi 6) system. It was a remarkably simple install and the worst WiFi speed in my house is now faster than the best speed was (right next to the wireless router) before the change.
Too bad I didn't do this back when the whole COVID thing started!
