Went out and claimed my annual birthday lunch from Pajo's Fish n Chips on a wharf in Steveston BC. [IMG]

If any of you MINI Motorers are ever up here in Canada in the Vancouver BC area (after they reopen the border crossings), let me know. We'll do a fish n chip run there.

My wife hit a pothole on the way home from Nashville and got a small split in one of the run flats. The weather was very bad. She made it to a rest stop and I went and picket her up.

Thanks. Car is fine except where the bumper got hung getting it off the trailer. That will be an easy fix. New tire tomorrow.

I reconfirmed my reservation at Fontana this April, for at least MY part of MOTD. I'll be doing the Cigar Salon on the Porch, on April 28, from around 8 PM until everyone leaves. I'll bring the cigars...all YOU need to do is to stop by and have a stick or so. As usual, NO vapes or E-cigarettes.

Fontana is open for those who want to go there but there are no organized events, like drives or vendors, etc. I have done the Cigar Salon since 2005 and this is my last year to go to the Dragon. My event is free to anyone who might want to stop by, chat after having made a long day's drive and partake in smoking some fine FREE cigars before heading off to bed. I'm happy to do it as I have tons of cigars, and because this will be my 15th Cigar Salon and MY last one. Anyone who wants to do it next year is open to do so, but this one is my final one.

I've got Rufus w/ the front end up on jack stands. I got a screw through a tire and I decided that I'd rather just go ahead and get the front 2 replaced (a bit of excessive wear on the inner edge due to some excessive neg camber for my use), so I ordered up 2 new tires from TireRack and I've got their new mobile mounting service, ASAP Tire, coming out tomorrow to put 'em on.

I had never seen it before, so I was surprised as well.. If you choose the mobile service when you buy the tires, they will ship the tires directly to the mobile service. After your order processes (2-3 min), you get an email from ASAP Tire to set the appointment. I gave 'em a few extra days to be safe (good thing, as there was a delay) and have an appointment for tomorrow afternoon. It costs around $25/tire for mounting/balancing... a fair price, IMHO, considering that I don't have to do any of the work or lug wheels/tires around and wait in some greasy waiting area while I wait for a tech to free up to mount and balance my tires.

They also have a pre-payment option so it's very COVID safe. I pre-paid, so really I could just open the garage door from inside the house and point him in. Rufus already has the front end up in the air and the front wheels off, so it should be an easy job for the tech.

I'll report back tomorrow, after the service is done.

Poor Rufus hasn't been out (the tires are really slick when the weather is near freezing) lately. I'm hoping for some continued dry weather this weekend so I can get him out for a spin.

I'm should be getting my 2nd shot on the 10th ,but things are not looking to good here in Calif. The Gov ordered that all of the vaccine should be given out to get as many as possible can get there first shot so now they don't have enough to go around for the 2nd shots. They cancelled 90k of the shots. Me and the wife well find out on the 10th if we well get the shot or have to come back another time.

I ordered some Continentals, got the last 4 they had. No mobile service where I live, bummer. I called the recommended installer to ask if they could get the helmet on the lift. He said for cars that low they used blocks of wood to get it high enough to put on the lift but they charge extra. So when they get the tires I will put the helmet on jack stands and take the rims to them

When you say it that way....
I did not ask. I have never used pep boys so I really don’t want them messing with my car anyway
