Exactly. Most places just keep it in the install price because there is usually a lot of wood around a shop just for that setup. It's not a bother for a reputable shop to get a customer to return.

Oh hells no, Pep Boyz. You are doing the right thing, carry the wheels in. Is there a Discount Tire near you? That's who I use & they have always done good work.

I know this might not mean anything but years ago when I worked at a car dealership and had an in with the shop. A friend of mine balanced my tires while they where still on the car. I have never had a better balance wheel and tire set up. This was back in the 80's with old bias ply, but I never had to balance them again until they where worn out. The only trouble was you can rotate them because he balanced the wheels tires and brake rotors at the same time. It did require someone who new what they were doing.

Yes there is. Thats who I usually get my tires from. A few days ago when I was in there to replace my wife's runrock they really rubbed me wrong. First the guy helping me kept stoping to answer the phone and then when I asked the price of some rims they had for my truck he said look on the web for the price. Yea I'll do that. This is not like them so I will use them agin, everyone has a bad day.

I wouldn't be happy with treatment like that either. Me I'd most likely write a letter to DT explaining how poorly I was treated.

Even though the guy was a jerk I'd still rather go there than any Pep Boyz ever. Good luck Lee I hope it goes well.

Discount Tire or Tirerack Direct for wheels and tires if the price is right for you. I am looking for a set for my Clubby, winter tires for next year and some sticky tires for summer drive around and track days, I keep coming back to an 18 inch Enkie Wheel looks ok and weights about 21.6lbs, everything else is in the 25-28lb range. Price is tolerable. We shall see. The run around tires might be a set of Nitto's summer rated or nt01 or nt05 for driving to the track and back home.

I go to Big O tires. I have pretty good luck with them. Over the years I have gotten about 8 sets of tires from them so they know me also.

I've had nothing but great experiences with Tire Rack on new rims and tires. I bought 5 of each a few years back and had to replace a pair of tires a month or so ago. I used their new ASAP Tire service... Tire Rack ships to the local installer and they bring your new tires to your home and do the install, balance and mounting in your driveway. It was $25 or so per wheel and was super easy to deal with (and very COVID friendly if you are minding that kind of stuff as carefully as we are in my household). I walked out, opened the garage door, pointed to my car up on jack stands, showed him the wheels/tires to do and pointed to the power and air lines if he wanted 'em. 1 hour later the tires were on and the car was ready to go. I scheduled everything on-line right after I placed my TireRack.com order (the install place sent me an email w/ a scheduling link about 15 seconds after my tire order had been completed). Super easy and a fair price, IMHO.

Hmmm...what did I do today? I took my wife to her plastic surgeon's appt. and we got the bad news that she may need more surgery on her foot, as it is not healing as well as was expected. This looks to be a long summer for both of us.

The first surgery got rid of some cancer in her foot. The plastic surgeon had to use skin grafts to close up the wound and it's not healing correctly, even though the cancer is gone, so, she's going to have to have another skin graft.

No foaming from the mouth, but your arm may hurt for a few days.... at least mine did, but Francie is tougher than stone.

No pain in my arm so far. Hope I don't get the adverse reaction that Babs did. Knocker on her butt for a day.

I know Francie is tough, she has to be to live with you. ;)

Well, I took the afternoon watching the new shower glass being installed on new shower. We did a rather expensive master remodel on our bedroom and master bath. So I hope we can get some of the cost back in 10 years or so when we toddle off to our retirement center or old folks home.

If you are wondering labor cost was 22K, material etc. etc. was cost plus. Colorado is not a cheap place to live. Now I have to watch out for the property tax increase.

All in all, nice luxury bath, happy wife, it is all that counts. I got my 20 JCW Clubby so both of us are happy.

    Don

Befor going to work this afternoon, I buffed most of the Lotus. I clayed it first. The car just looked dirty even after washing. It is starting to look white.

Went to a cars and coffee. It was down town so I stoped by a sore my stepfather and brothers owned. The family sold it once they passed on. It’s being renovated, it’s a little bitter sweet. A44DC984-E269-4D9D-8C4F-CCF25439FEA4.jpeg
