    Lawyers.

That's why don't have one here in the states.

But with that said I realize how easily this thread can go to hell debating the legal system and some of the sharks that swim in those waters.

I trust we'll stay out of that pond please.

Yes. My '99 Dodge pickup I used to drive at work had an on/off switch for the passenger air bag. Not sure what year exactly it was that they went to sensors, but it was a good step forward in my opinion.

And I thought we didn't get the switch because we would smash our hands turning it off while closing the door..

I was thinking it strange only because I seem to remember some US vehicles could have the bag switched off with the ignition key and it would automatically re-arm with a new ignition cycle.....

Up until a few years ago you could switch off the passenger side airbags. But then the feds decided we had to have the seat sensors.....

Its due to two-seaters/roadsters/single cab trucks and baby seats pure and simple. As an example. My previous vehicle was a 2000 GMC Sonoma single cab. I had an airbag switch. My parents had a 2000 GMC Jimmy. Same thing but with more doors and cargo room. Theirs didn't have the switch.
