    Baumgartner was in the capsule and the balloon was being filled but the wind kicked up and the launch was aborted. Delay possibly until tomorrow, possibly much longer.

    One new record in the books so far, highest manned altitude by balloon. Above 117K and climbing slowly now but shouldn't be long now before the jump. Projected max height is ~125K.

    His official top speed during descent was 833.9 mph :eek6: That's Mach 1.24 :eek6:

    Yup, that's a record.

    I think the other records broken were highest manned balloon flight and highest jump altitude (128,100 feet).

    You know, if Space Shuttles would have had the abilities to do a low orbit jump like that the Columbia astronauts may have had a chance.

    If they would have known about the hole in the wing. :(

    I watched the jump. Thrilling stuff for sure. When I saw Felix tumbling I thought Oh no. I was very happy to see him regain control & not black out. What an achievement!!!
