Smoked baby-back ribs from Thurn's are simmering in a big pot of german sauerkraut that has a splash of white wine, and a pot of potatoes are a cooking on the next burner over. Crunchy loaf of french bread is warming up in the oven that's going to be married with some sweet butter. Picked up a nice bottle of white wine from the Biltmore Winery, when we were at the Dragon last month. Having my parent over to share the bounty...... The kitchen smells great..... Picked up some Pistachio ice cream from Ben & Jerry's for desert.
I also picked up a case of Yuengling lager beer that's chillin in the refrigerator. I really like the taste of that beer. I'll be introducing at least one to my dad when he arrives..... Cheers!!!

Enjoy the Yuengling- the plant is about an hour from where I live. Did the tour last year- it was fascinating. It's built into the side of a mountain. They still have the corridors open where they hid their brewing during Prohibition.-

It's a little nippy outside, I'm going to make a big pot of Chili. I have a recipe I've used for some time now. It's from "CW Porubsky's Grocery and Meats" Chili - Located in Little Russia, Topeka Kansas. And I always make their spiced brine pickles to go with it..... Yummy...
Got the recipe from Jane and Michael Stern.....

How about a great breakfast???
One excellent quality English Muffin (I find "BAY'S" or "Publix") the best.
One XL Egglands best egg
One slice of Kraft American cheese
Six strips of bacon (I used the "Hormel) pre-cooked bacon.
I have a very small just the right size cooking pot that is a perfect size to cook this in. Same circumference as the English Muffin.
This along with a nice hot cup of coffee and a chilled 12 ounce can of V8 juice makes a great fast easy to make breakfast.
Yum---Yum-
