Welp..... Every Wednesday is "Date Night"....
That's when I take my wife out for dinner at a local restaurant, just the two of us.....
Tonight was one of my favorites, "The Indian Oven"
I had Shrimps Bangladeshi.... Medium spicy, with a cold Kingfisher beer..... Tasty....:D

Salad made with all local freshly harvested radish, spinach, baby lettuces, tomato and mushrooms. Dressed simply with garlic scrapings vinaigrette. A few shrimp for a tasty protein

I'm not too fond of that cooking. If it was really "authentic", your food is looking back at you, like "fish heads and rice", for example. :nonod:

Started out with a spring roll and some tasty dipping sauce.... Very fresh and tasty....:D It had a nice large shrimp tucked away in there and didn't have the usual cabbage like the chinese egg rolls I'm used to....

#23...... Won't even try to say it, real tongue twister....
It was kind of a salad I guess....
    A medley of...
Warm vermicelli rice noodles with sliced BBQ pork. Sliced pork egg roll diced lettuce. With a kind of vinegary sweet-sour garlicky dressing....

All delivered to the table by a very proud owner Mr Amp, who went into great detail about explaining the differences between Chinese and Vietnamese food, all cooked fresh by his family back in the kitchen.....

First time I have ever tried the "Bubble Tea".... Sweet tea with a splash of cream and chewy black balls of tapioca beads in the bottom.... all sucked up through a gigantic straw....:D

I personally like to experiment and try out different "ethnic" foods.... The only bad experience was with an Ethiopian restaurant, but maybe it was an off day.... :frown5:

Total price came to $25.00 for the two of us.... We'll be back.....:)

Actually Jim, you are almost correct...... They are produced for several reasons, one of which is taste, but are generally from old seed stock..... As compared to "New" tomatoes, which are developed for shape and color but lack taste..... They tend to ripen very fast in the market and don't have a long shelf life.

Sometime do a taste test between the heirloom (ugly tomato) and the new tomato (perfect looking tomato)..... The heirloom will always win based on taste.....:D

Be careful there Jim..... we may both be moving into heirloom status.... Not much to look at, but boy are we.........:p

    Thanks, Man(Metalman)!

I will be keeping it updated. I have some prep to do today, for dinner tomorrow. Going to either do a Beef Bourguignon style dish, or a Braised Chicken with all sorts of stuff. . . being a Chef, at home on medical leave, I have actually really enjoyed cooking for myself and the ladyfriend, and not 800people a day like normal.

Alright!! Glad to have been of some inspiration. Just remember, my stuff is NOT blueprints, just suggestions. . .and how I like to eat. Food, like our MINI's can be as customized to fit the user as it needs to be!

Tonight, did a White Wine and Herb Braised Chicken w/ Fall Vegetables over Whipped Potatoes:

I normally contribute my food recipes to an "Official Cookbook Thread" on another automotive site where I am a Moderator. I don't know this board as well, and wouldn't want to start such a random thread here, but if you ever want step by steps, or "How To's", I am happy to copy/paste them here, just let me know.

Made me a big pot of Tattrat's "Boiled Dinner".... But left it as a soup.... The crushed red peppers added a nice bit of heat.... Almost didn't add the cabbage, but glad I did... Went with a chicken, and chizoro and Slovenian sausage trio... I really like sautéed carrots in a little butter, so I did them first before putting them in the pot... Made 5 quarts yesterday after work.... Today it's half gone.....

    [IMG][/IMG]

Oh, Tattrat.... found you over on DC.... Got that bookmarked... Will be following you...
