    We just enjoyed the best Hawaiian Shaved Ice outside of the Islands! Wished I could share a shot of it, but we devoured it before we thought of snapping a photo.

    Well, the first of my ghost peppers finally ripened yesterday. I ate half of one out of sheer curiosity. GREAT GOOGLY MOOGLY THOSE THINGS ARE HOT!!!!! I mean we are talking the fires of hades here. They had a lovely taste, I believe Ralph Wiggum from the Simpsons said it best, "It tastes like burning."

    On that not I cant wait to make hot sauce out of the rest!!!!

    Dude! I want some!!! I want to make another sauce, and I was thinking about trying to ferment a batch. The last one I made was delish, still have a little left. And I'm gatheriung fresh peppers for round 2, looks like this one is going to have more ghosts as Im pulling a couple off the plants every day. Making hot my own hot sauce has me like stupid excited.

    You should try the sliced mixed hot pepper slices I jarred using a syrup made of maple sugar and vinegar.

    They need a few weeks of fridge time still. Initial tasting made me smile, it's darn good.

    It's kinda nice to have a home full of the fragrance of fermenting chilies...

    To bad the candle lab shop down the street hasn't caught this scent..I'd be a customer.

    I had to cook mine outside on the grill. The wife would not have been happy if I did that in the kitchen, lol.

    Actually, there's a bit of uphill in each direction. No sand though, the Coastal Commission let em pave the roads here just last year... :lol:

    Mmm... Never thought of that, but a light chili and garlic oil on pumpkin seeds sounds good! :)

    Way to go...now I'm out in the field thinking about what you're eating. I'll trade you for my delicious Chili-Mac MRE. I think it has a peanut butter packet in it.
