Mrs Yoder's Kitchen in Millersburg Oh....
We scored their "all you can eat" BBQ buffet for $12.95
The ribs and fried chicken made you want to change religion...
The local farmers were well represented.... There were some mighty big guys there chowing down...

I smoked a rack of SLC spare ribs today. I had that with some cajun spice pasta salad, and some fried fresh asparagus. The fried asparagus was something I discovered by coincidence. I was deep frying some shrimp, and munching on raw asparagus (the skinny ones), and I thought to my self, "I wonder what would happen..." It takes about ten seconds for the asparagus to fry, and it is crisp and tasty.

Tacos! fried cod, salsa verde, pico, cilantro, lime and cholula.

Went to Farmers Market, asked for utility grade apples. Guy says 12.50 for a mixed box. Sends me home with almost 50lbs worth.
Made some Strudel to start.Attached Files:

What's keeping those strudels from falling out of the pan?
Bet the kitchen smells good... -

utility grade apples? Is that apples that you use in a bio-fuel reactor to generate power?

I grilled some pork tenderloin that was marinading in Stubb's Pork Marinade overnight. I have some good homemade marinades, but I really like the Stubb's -- and I can just pour it out of a bottle. I ate it my favorite way -- just some slices of pork tenderloin on crackers.

Chicken wings seasoned with salt, black pepper, granulated garlic and cayenne pepper. Grilled on the Weber. They were good. The cayenne added some nice punch -- I got a little neck sweat going.

Made some quick and dirty chili fries. Omaha Steaks steak fries, Wolf Brand chili, diced jalapeños, a handful of shredded colby/jack, and a little shot of Dave's Insanity Sauce. I can't believe I ate the whole thing!

I'll be taking my wife on a little road trip to Niagara-on-the-Lake in Canada....
Will be planning the trip so we can grab a bite at "Charlie the Butcher" for dinner on the way....
These guys know roast beef....

I had a different version of vetsvette's potato and chili last night. Baked potato, Wolf Brand chili, cheese and spices. Quite the hot mess.

vetsvette MINI Alliance AmbassadorThat Wolf Brand is the best chili I have found that comes out of a can. I just ordered several cans of their Hot Chili without beans from Wallyworld since the only kind available locally is the low octane version.
This was lunch today. Mega cheese and bacon omelette with hash browns and biscuit w/sausage gravy on the side. All cutesy of Huddle House and my server Beverly.

Mmmmm. I love a good Huddle House / Waffle House breakfast for lunch or dinner. Nothing better when you are on a road trip.
I always hit the Huddle House in Robbinsville when I go to MOTD. Last time I picked up the check for a table full of local LEOs (mostly plates of cheese fries and sodas... probably $15 for the table) and dashed before they knew who did it. I figured if the local cops were in a slightly better mood, then maybe the MINI folks would wind up with a few less tickets! That, and cops do a job that I value and that I wouldn't want to do myself... so they deserve a thanks for that, every now and then.

I see they have one Huddle House located in Seville Ohio.....
I'll make a point of having lunch there on our upcoming road trip.

I had to do a search on Huddle House. "Huddle House is an American chain of 24-hour diner-style restaurants with over 360 locations in 23 states, primarily found in the Southern United States."
Wow. I had never even heard of it until today. How did that happen?
I do enjoy the occasional breakfast at Waffle House. I always order the same thing...
Pull one sausage.
Drop one hasbrown.
Mark triple scramble plate.
That and WH coffee is just what the doctor did NOT order.

I scored big-time at the Manager's Special section of the meat department at Kroger. Two big Flat Iron Steaks. They used to be cheap -- poor man's tenderloin -- until they got popular, and now they cost as much as tenderloin, so this Manager's Special was sweet.
I cooked half of one, London Broil style. Sous vide and seared nice and rare. I sautéed some onions and baby mushrooms to go with the meat.

I cooked some sausage and peppers with a locally made sweet Italian sausage, green and yellow bell peppers, onions, garlic, fish basil from the garden, and freshly grated Parmigiano-Reggiano.

In the process of making a peach cobbler using a quart of peaches my daughter canned last year. Sitting and watching the timer now. Pics later if it's worthy.
EDIT:
Well, it ain't pretty, but it sure is tasty.Attached Files:
