First tried that stuff in Europe, when stationed there in '74 and that is the only place you could get it. Now it and many other things, are being imported here, but it is NOT the same. The FDA makes them change it before they will let it in the country.

It's 90 plus with high humidity today so I am chilling in the AC with homemade grill cheese, chips and NASCAR from Dover.

Round and round they go who blows up or crashes next nobody knows.

:cornut: Metalman, all of us in the other 49 states call that a Reuben. Only in Ohio would they call it a #31. Good Stuff. You're a gourmet sir.

Oy vay, that is not a Reuben boychik...

A proper Reuben is composed of corned beef, swiss cheese, sauerkraut and Russian Dressing (aka 1000 Island) on rye.

The proper way to construct such a sandwich is to brush melted butter on one side of the rye bread. Place it butted side down on a flat top grill. Then layer on the dressing, corned beef, sauerkraut and swiss. Cover with a lid. Heat till cheese melts and Rye is nicely grilled. Run under the broiler to brown cheese.
