Lemon merengue is my favorite, do they have any of that. Or pecan, the Eastern Amish make a damn good pecan pie!
Grilled Halibut with sautéed spinach, chard and mushrooms finished with white wine and a garlic/chile paste.
Yes Rae, I did see Lemon Merengue and Peanut butter, Cherry, Coconut Cream, Chocolate Cream, and and and...... The list goes on. And yes, there was a Pecan pie. All the Amish favorites were well represented. Yummy...
Next time I'm in the MidWest, I'll have to have you guys point me there. I lived in Amish country as a kid, I do love apple butter, maple candy, and their pies *ah happy sigh* And they grow the best nursery stock for landscaping! As for dinner tonight, we are having duck egg quiche with andouille sausage, spinach, and crimini mushrooms!
My wife spent the weekend at a horse competition with our daughter, just outside of Cleveland...... She's headed back now to Columbus and should arrive around 7:00pm. I'm cooking two rather nice pork tenderloins stuffed with cranberries and a little salt and pepper rolled up with a little sweet butter. Got the potatoes and corn cooking on the stove. I'll pop a loaf of sour dough bread in the oven when she pulls in the driveway. There's a nice bottle of white wine chillin in the refrigerator. For desert, we're having silk chocolate cream pie. Yummy....
:cornut:Home made TEXAS CHILI , made from scratch by me.:drool My lovely wife and her mom ate a bowl each and then broke the sound barrier getting to the freezer for 'Blue Bell' ice cream to extinguish the flames(honest Margi[car is Mini Margi/wife is Lady Margi], I didn't hardly put any Cayenne Pepper in it. You'll love it. :devil:Tee Hee). Jasonopcorn:opcorn:
smoked three fresh chickens for 4 hours (hickory) and made a large salad for me and the boss with fresh smoked chicken. Healthy and delicious:drool
Home made burgers and garlic fries. Sugar momma hooking Jinky up like she wants something. Oh, and there is beer.
Hey Mark.... If the chickens are wet, sometimes they're a little hard to stay lit. Do you smoke em with or without the feathers?:ihih: I prefer a nice bourbon after my meal..... But lighting up a chicken is good too.....
They sure were noisy when I started to smoke them...was I suppose to remove the feathers????? Sent from my Droid using Tapatalk
Nah..... Personal preference...... Filter or filterless.... Filterless has a little more bite.... But they all settle down after awhile.....
 Choking your chicken?..................oh no, oh no! I'm outta here guys! Exit stage left. Jasonopcorn:opcorn:
:cornut: Lady Margi loved y'alls suggestions. Although she felt that they weren't quite devious enough to properly pay back yours truely. She's even now making a chocolate cake out of 'Exlax' and filling the 'Tuck's Pads' jar with linament. Jasonopcorn:opcorn:
