I just went to You Tube and there's several R53 sound clips there. The JCW systems seem to sound like mine... There are other popular brands that can be heard there too. I found the clips under Mini Cooper S R53 with JCW Motorsport exhaust. Also, there's some clips of the R56 as well. Happy Listening!

^^^ I agree most turbo cars are somewhat quieter than their N/A brethren. Noise does not equal power. Oh would it be easy if it did.

JCW with Resonator delete
I have a 2008 Factory Built JCW and have just removed my resonator. Since I purchased the car 2 months ago, I felt that it was a bit subdued in noise compared to it's power. I have been driving like a teen ager, so might as well act like one :biggrin5: It now sounds like it should in my opinion.
Here is a link to a quick video of the exhaust note.

Here is what I had removed. Had the resonator replaced with a piece of pipe (not Stainless Steel but galvanised) Total cost. $50 Au. The second picture is with it just tacked into place.
Cheap mod, and worth it in my opinion. Like I said before I am acting like a teen ager again!!
Cheers,

Not sure about the above post, but on mine, the pipe was tacked in place while on the vehicle, then the exhaust was removed and fully welded on a bench to make sure that a good weld was achieved around the pipe. They then used a sniffer to check for exhaust gasses once the exhaust was put in place and the car started.
All in all, a good job
