For November's meeting, HMMS is going to participate in the Community Family Center's "Walk/Run for the Future" event. They have asked us to put on a car show of our MINIs at a parking lot across from their center. So shine up the MINI, clean out the pantry, and help a great cause! Here are the details: Thank you for your interest in supporting Community Family Centers’ 2010 WALK/RUN for the FUTURE! CFC’s WALK for the FUTURE, was developed to raise awareness and funds to increase educational attainment, end hunger,address poverty and help meet the basic needs of low-income children, adults and seniors in Houston’s Greater East End. The 5K walk/run will take place on Saturday, November, 6, 2010 from 8:00am-12:00pm at Community Family Centers located at 7524 Avenue E, Houston, TX 77012. Per our conversation, I understand this is also the day you host your monthly Car Committee meetings. I humbly request you consider the possibly of allowing CFC to host your next meeting! This opportunity comes with many wonderful benefits! 1) Change of scenery (away from your normal meeting place) 2) Exhibit vehicles while meeting is in progress 3) Enjoy a fun filled atmosphere 4) Spacious Boardroom available 5) No fee involved 6) Enjoy yummy breakfast tacos, authentic Mexican sweet bread, and coffee (compliments of CFC) Please keep in mind, the exhibition will be displayed in a secure parking lot located across from the main building. Officers from Precinct 6 will be present to insure everyone’s safety and property. Your exhibition of Mini Coopers would be an immense addition to our WALK! Most importantly it will help bring the community together to support a great cause! Those interested in showing off their cars will meet at the center at 8:00 am. The club meeting will start at 10:30 am as usual, in the Center. We should bring canned goods with us to donate. Edit: Suggested Items to bring-- Food items that are easily cooked & that can feed a family of 4-6 (rice, beans, potatoes, macaroni & cheese, cold cereals, oatmeal, spaghetti, canned vegetables) Clean out your pantry - give those items you never use!
