Someone going 90 in a 55 well it is their business. Unless they are endangering other's. Going 90 in a 55 does not automatically endanger others. Depends on the time, place & weather conditions along with how much or little traffic there was. Yes it is against the law, but not always dangerous other than to ones wallet & driving record. While I bust the speed limit on occasion that kind of speed sees me on the track. You are going to have to get over what other's say & do. It's getting you all worked up & nothing you pound out on your keyboard is going to change it. Sorry damned soap box got me again.
Minidave I see your point and I'm not advocating anarchy on the highways. Where I live if you don't do between 65 and 70 you will get run over. Ok so fine I would just be happy if the slow traffic stayed right and people did not tailgate. Being polite at any speed is good. Oh and by the way I have had more then one officer of the law ride my but because I was only doing 60. No lights on. I always let them by then fall behind them and run with them. I figure they know where the speed traps are. :biggrin5: I wonder why my wife doesn't like to ride with me? Yes she tells me I crazy every time I do this. Of course I don't speed very often, I'm not like Dave.0 all cranked up on Meth!:lol::lol:
I am not getting all worked up......I'm trying to have a discussion based on the original topic posted and the comments made by others.....and while I know I'm espousing a contrary view, I think my point of view should have as much respect as the others. I think the times that you could drive 90 in a 55 without endangering others or yourself are limited to pretty much nil and none.......
Hahaha but that has 3 numbers. Try that on the 2 digit ones. By the way I have done double the posted on 81 N&S in Virginia and the posted # was above 55. 3 and 4 in the morning are great times to run WOT. I have also been pulled over in Virginia for doing 92 in a 65. The Trooper was cool and he chewed me out and gave me a ticket and sent me on my way. People just need to quit crying about what others do and worry about themselves.
Does anyone remember when New Rome, west of Columbus, was like this? They would give you a ticket because they could tell as you drove by at 35 that your tire was 1 lb short of properly inflated. 1 mph over 35, ticket. It was nuts.
They used to set those up a couple miles from our high school on the country roads. We used them to see who could get the high score for the day, lol. Loser bought the winner lunch, lol!

A little late to the discussion here, but I was in court a while back, testifying as a witness, not on trial myself. The judge was blasting out this girl for speeding and driving without a license FOR THE 3RD TIME! He flat out told her "Any cop in the city will tell you, the given speed of any road is 10 mph over the posted limit. And that most cops won't even look at you if you're going less than 10 over". Unfortunately, this idiot was going 18 over, WITHOUT a license! She was sentenced to 4 weekends in jail. Like to old saying goes, "9 over, you're fine, 10 over, you're mine"!
