A few questions for clarification.
The thread title says spoiler broken. Is this a convertible or a roadster? The roadster has a spoiler.
You said they replaced the spark plugs and wires. The car does not have plug wires it has coil packs. Did they replace the coil packs?
What alerts are showing on the dash and what are the ECU codes it is showing?
There is a code reader you can get that will read all the BMW codes. There are some independent shops that have everything to fix anything. It just depends on where you live. That is a big chunk of change but at this point I am not really sure how to advise you. If it is a probable with the ECU or one of the other related boxes that it talks to then you may be stuck with letting the dealer fix the problem.
Sorry this is not much help. My R58 had a fixed JCW wing. but that had to be coded into the ECU.
Nine months is long time be dealing with an annoying problem but $2300 is a lot of money. It just seems to me that there has to be an independent shop / mini specialist who has the equipment to read a code.…and welcome to Motoring Alliance.

Yes, they replaced "coil packs"
Alert on dash is indicative of spoiler stuck in up position. It has been manually pushed down but alert and beeping continue.
No ECU codes are showing.
Mechanics say only dealer can deal with the codes.
I'm scheduled for a $2300 repair tomorrow. Should I go? I've been pursuing this for 9 months to avoid the $2300 cost.
