Perhaps I have a short waist, but after a few hours in the car, my back starts to hurt. The lumbar support did nothing to help, so I tried all types of pillows with little luck. Then I realized the lumbar support seemed high. I put a cushion on the seat to raise myself up a bit and, bingo, all is fine. For me the seat bottom is too low. Just thought I'd toss this out there if anyone else had a similar back problem issue.

No, I got a stadium cushion from the sporting good section at K-Mart, but if you need one of the other type, I'm sure it will work just fine. :D

And here I thought this was about something else for support. I use one of these to support the back of my race type seat.

Found out what the problem is with my seat back. I went for a check up and the doctor told me I had shrunk an inch and a half. I'm now 5'10 1/2" instead of 6'. That is about the thickness of my cushion, so there you have it.
