I've said it here before that I was lucky enough to be at the first Rennsport at LRP in 2001 and to be able to see/hear and touch more than one 917K was pretty much sexual! My ex-wife couldn't quite figure that out!!:crazy:

Some great vintage footage there. With folks a few feet from cars going triple digit speeds this was bound to happen. Very sad for those who lost their lives. Hindsight says what were they thinking?
You could tell it was from a different age when all the male spectators had on coats and ties and the women all wore dresses.

Well, all I can say is wow! Interesting to note the shift pattern, 1st gear was down to the left rather than up. Might take some getting used to but I would sure love to try! And he hit redline a lot!!
