Wheels were grotty as hell and needed to come off... While I was at it, I stripped off the old caliper paint and put on a fresh coat. .
Nice. I did just the same a few weeks back. Took each wheel off in the driveway, cleaned it all up, put them back on, then put it in the garage, and took them back off again for painting lol. And it still ceases to stop raining!
Nice one more thing to clean. While you have the wheels off pull the torx bolt that holds the rotors on & kiss it with a bit of anti-seize. Also put a bit around the center of the hub where the wheel contacts it. Those two actions will save you headaches down the road.
Some of the picture links don't work:skep:, http://www.motoringalliance.com/forums/detailing/516-major-wheel-clean.html Mark
Oddly enough, while there WAS quite a bit of gunk up in the wheel wells, the banner was not there. I'll look for it when I put them back on though - it may be in my garage cupboards.
