Hey BlwnAway, I'm sure you have posted this before? But what are your current mods other than the Sprintex? Thanks.

You are still very high on your weight of the car, even w/ driver (you).

Unless you are doing this test loaded down w/ random stuff, and a passenger then a more accurate weight for you would be in the 2850 range. Thats assuming you are in a fully loaded MINI option wise.

Actually It's the best avg. we can get, most info says thet the MCSC ranges from 2830 to 2880, therefore 2850 avg. Truthfully I'm probably being a little generous if the advertised weights are correct, I'm only figuring 300 lbs for me and my contents, and I'm about 230 myself. That being said just for the sake of accuracy I am going to get an actual weight when I get a chance. Trust me when I comes to performance I wish I had a hardtop.

Using the VD I'm truly trying to get this right, simply because even if you get actual dyno pulls there are so many variables between individual dyno's, operators and their settings that at least for those of us that can use this program there may finally be some actual consistancy, and as you pointed out about my weight, with all the info right in front of everybody, fudging becomes far more difficult.

Since this isn't techniclly my "build thread" I'm not going to post all my updates here, unless people really want me too, otherwise just check out my thread on M/U.

But I did want to add something on the "OverAll" of my Sprintex expierience, I had a big gain over the w/e by re-doing my VGS mod and adressing a "Whistle" issue by just cleaning my I/C boots & checking all my vacuum conections, it put my boost back to about 15.75 or so, and was able to achieve a 253 whp reading with the V/D program, on the Mustang settings.

With that in mind I do believe the Sprintex is really allowing my other parts to work better.

I will post all of my final results here though.

First roadtrip with the Sprintex (I would say "New Sprintex but I went past the 10,000 mark this w/e, so I guess it's not really new anymore), 1200 miles this past w/e, and the best and only thing I can say is "NO-thing", NO problems, No issues, NO hint of anything different than any other previous trips anywhere. IAT's ran between 12 & 18 degrees above ambient, and even idleing at 1500 rpm for 15 min. or so to jump my gf's battery didn't get over 150.

And I know this isn't directly related to the S/C but even with all my mods & hp, if I stay at or under 70mph, I still avg.'d 30.9 mpg, above 70 drops to 29.2.

Next trip MOTD, anyone who wants, just ask for a look or a ride. (when I'm not cooking of course)

Getting back into the tuning this w/e, it's been a long enough break.

Still on the 70mm, I was waiting till the weather perminently shifts out of winter till I change pulleys.

But I'm not sure when yet because of all the other things I really want to have finished for MOTD.

One thing I have decided to do as a PM thing is with my new gauges, as we all know one of the biggest engine killers as far as everyday is overheating, so since my new volt gauge is P.O.L. (Point of Load) I'm going to connect it to my water pump power, (since it's now electric) after all of the fuses & connections, and since the gauge allows you to set a point for Low & High for an alarm feature that is built in, therefore I should have the earliest possible warning in case I loose power to the W/P.

    Anything new Mark?

My SPRINTEX car is still broke, getting a ton of body prep, and hopefully paint this summer. Saving for a $12K motor build is hard when unemployed, maby it will be easyer now with a full time job.

While I'm in a posting mood, to date:
+20,000 miles on my Sprintex, 15,000 miles with the 70mm pulley, 5000 with the 64mm pulley, and 60mm pulley goes on in a week or so, still no problems what so ever.

For me, peak boost w/ the 64mm pulley is 18.5, continuous boost @ 17.7, this is why I've decided to go to the 60mm pulley, like usual, I want more.....:D

Please post up some dyno's, people are dying to see the differences in power between the pullies as no one has done that yet.

Good to hear  Also heard they are on a little bit lower priced right now. One day I will do more with my car, runs great as it is, but our new hobby, road biking is sucking money away faster than when I was modding my car :eek6:  Good thing though....I finally did the Carbon fiber thing....just not on my car....my bike!

I'll do that as soon as we're done & I get a pull with the 60mm, basiclly the tune with the 70mm wasn't as good as it could have been, so the differences between the 70mm & the 64mm are probably a little higher than what is normal, so once I'm all done I'll post up everything. So far though you can absolutely see the corelation between boost & power....of course.
At this point I'm seeing about 1.5whp per 0.10 lbs of boost, but there again that may be a little high because of the tune thing, we'll see.

A few people have asked me in general about the S/C as stricktly a performance upgrade, IMO it really depends on your skill level more than anything else, here's why:
    (stricktly performance)
As far as "bang for your buck" it's basiclly even with doing a BVH, if you have to pay someone to do your head, if not a BVH is of course a better value.
But as far as if you have to do your S/C or you already have a BVH & the accompanying goodies it's the only way to go, the kits are a breeze and everything just works, the power band just makes the car more fun to drive and there's always the potential of swapping pulleys and getting even more than with the M45, overall I've gained between 1.4 & 1.8 lbs of boost going from the 70mm (it's really 69mm) to the 64mm, and hope to see just under that with the 60mm, which should put me real close to 19lbs, which would be either really hard to get or impossible with the M45 without creating far more heat issues than what I've seen so far with the Sprintex.
Personally I'll still never go back to an M45, no matter what I end up doing with the car.

After finally adding a GPIC to my list of goodies I decided to go back and check some old datalogs as far as IAT's are concerned, found something that I thought was interesting:

My M45 with a JCW pulley and making 14.5 lbs of boost actually gave me an avg. of 7* higher IAT than the Sprintex with the 69mm pulley giving me 15.7 lbs of boost, and the 64mm pulley giving me 17.7 lbs of boost only gives me an avg of +6* over the M45 at 14.5 lbs of boost. Not bad IMO.
